I ask Siri, what is Christian Nationalism? She said "Christian nationalists in the United States advocate "a fusion of identitarian Christian identity and cultural conservatism with American civic belonging." It has been noted to bear overlap with Christian fundamentalism, white supremacy, the Seven Mountain Mandate movement, and dominionism."

  • FLORIDA REBOUNDS - Floridians Find the Strength to Pick up the Pieces and Move on.
    Oct 11 2024

The Deron Harris Podcast Season #3 EP# 131 - FLORIDA REBOUNDS

After Hurricanes Helane and Milton, Floridians have to find the strength to pick up the pieces and move on.

Hurricane Milton has had a devastating impact on Florida, causing widespread destruction and loss of life.

Hurricane Milton made landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast as a powerful Category 3 storm near Siesta Key, about 70 miles south of Tampa. The hurricane rapidly intensified from a tropical depression to a Category 5 storm in just over 48 hours, setting a record for the fastest intensification in the Atlantic.

    - At least nine deaths have been reported across the state.
    - Over 3.3 million utility customers lost power.
    - Approximately 11 million people were at risk of flooding.
    - More than 125 homes were destroyed, many in senior citizen communities.

    - The storm generated multiple tornadoes, with at least nine reported in St. Lucie County alone.
    - St. Petersburg experienced 18.31 inches of rainfall, a once-in-a-millennium event.
    - Wind gusts reached up to 107 mph in Venice Beach, Sarasota County.

    - The fabric roof of Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, was severely damaged.
    - A construction crane in downtown Tampa was toppled.
    - Widespread flooding and road damage occurred throughout the state.

    - Major river flooding is expected to continue through the weekend.
    - Coastal areas remain under threat from dangerous conditions.

Should Floridaians Start Packing Up and Moving Out of State?

The decision to move out of state is a personal one that depends on various factors. While Florida does face hurricane risks, it's important to consider:

    1. Florida's emergency management has improved over the years.
    2. Building codes have been strengthened to better withstand hurricanes.
    3. Many other states face their own natural disaster risks (earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires).
    4. Florida offers many benefits, including no state income tax and a warm climate.

Instead of moving, you might consider:

    - Ensuring your home is hurricane-resistant
    - Having a solid evacuation plan
    - Maintaining adequate insurance coverage
    - Staying informed about weather forecasts during hurricane season

Ultimately, the decision should be based on your personal risk tolerance, financial situation, and lifestyle preferences.
