I remember when this happened.

A lot of skipping around, changing topics abruptly….it was very hard to listen to.

Still baffled

I listened to the whole thing and still just do not understand. I’m so sorry for all of them . I understand what they were all looking for in joining but cannot for the life of me understand why the first mention of a suicide drill didn’t cause everyone to run for the door ? At the very least they could have armed themselves like a militia to fight back against these “invaders “ ?
Seriously, no one recognized his mental illness?
Scary !

Excellent

With many audio resources provided by the Jonestown Institute, this work of journalism is one that will stay with me. From the haunting recordings of Jim Jones to the interviews with one of the few survivors, this is a work of journalism that may go under the radar but is most certainly worth your time.

SO SAD

Very informative. So sorry for the loss of souls.
Thank you for sharing your life. May Gods Grace and Peace be with all the survivors

Amazing

I have listened and read many things about Jonestown and the horror that happened there. This gave an intense look at someone who was deep in the organization. It was emotional and well told. The information was heartbreaking and amazing. Excellent production.

good, but could have been better

I wish they'd spent more time on the group psychology of Johnstown itself. I learned a lot, but would have liked to understand even more.

A must listen (if you are ok with graphic details)

I was in 9th grade when this happened, and a classmate lost some relatives, which was sad for our school community, but I didn’t understand the level
of details until this audible. Tim Carter recalls the events that place you at the moment, and your heart breaks again and again. It is history worth hearing, if for nothing else than not to repeat it.

Amazing!

Thank goodness some remained to tell the story. Thank goodness Tim Carter was willing to share such a painful, disturbing, yet ultimately triumphant personal tale!
