    Mar 17 2025

  • Baby Bomers and Gym Class
    Mar 3 2025

PE class for us Baby Boomers was hard-core! For the class jocks, it was the one guaranteed A. For the rest of us, it was like a horrible social experiment gone wrong. It was 45 minutes of humiliating torture that left us sweaty, smelly, and out of breath for the next class and reinforced Darwin’s concept of survival of the fittest. From the unflattering gym uniforms and communal showers to the endless laps demanded by our frustrated what to be NFL coach PE teacher, gym class is one high school memory most of us would prefer to forget.
