Continuing an annual Global DJ Broadcast tradition, Markus Schulz is delighted to return to Amsterdam for one of the most important weeks in the dance music calendar - the annual Amsterdam Dance Event. Alongside his open to close solo set at Melkweg this Friday night, he weaves a special 2 hour mix live and direct from the city; showcasing some of the biggest sounds that have emanated throughout the festivities.

Being German born, any show in the country for Markus Schulz feels like a homecoming of sorts. But the city of Berlin holds extra significance for him, as it has been his European base for many years while touring internationally; and has played a significant role in his musical influences and production. On Friday September 20 2024, Markus returned to Berlin for one of his signature open to close performances at The Cloud nightclub, and the highlights form the latest edition of the Global DJ Broadcast World Tour.

The remaining World Tour recordings in 2024 are both high profile solo sets - firstly this Sunday, continuing a Canadian Thanksgiving tradition at Stereo in Montreal. And then the following Friday, October 18, Markus plays all night long at Melkweg for his annual Amsterdam Dance Event show. One week on from the release of In Search of Sunrise 20, Markus Schulz returns home to Miami and continues to showcase the milestone compilation on the latest Global DJ Broadcast. The show includes Coldharbour world premieres from Ulrich Van Bell & Mike McCarthy, EDU and Jardin, alongside new music from Nicky Elisabeth, Deadmau5, Dirty Vegas and Armin van Buuren. In the second hour, he is joined by rising Swedish talent and production tutorial wizard biskuwi for the guestmix.

The phrase In Search of Sunrise carries a deep resonance throughout the dance music community, and ever since its debut outing 25 years ago, in 1999, its purpose has been to emotionally inspire. Spearheaded by Tiesto for the first seven editions, and continued by Richard Durand from 8 through 13, the honor was bestowed upon Markus Schulz to be the primary curator of the series from the 14th volume onwards.

In September 2024, In Search of Sunrise not only celebrated its 25th anniversary, but also reached its milestone 20th edition. The most expansive volume in the series to date, featuring no less than six DJ mixes; by Markus, Solarstone, Airscape, Super8 & Tab, York and ZOYA.

To mark the occasion, Markus wanted to weave something a little extra for company as part of the celebrations, by going through the entire history of the series and highlighting some of the significant pieces that have shaped the various generations of the series. This is the Global DJ Broadcast In Search of Sunrise 20 Companion Mix.

Before setting off on a European doubleheader for the weekend, Markus Schulz resumed studio duties on Global DJ Broadcast for another week. Markus will play a special open to close solo set this Friday at The Cloud in Berlin, Germany; before setting off to Nottingham for the Trancecoda meets Groovebox event on Saturday.

Once every month, Markus Schulz migrates from the studio and brings a flavor of his recent liveset experiences to the Global DJ Broadcast listeners. Throughout his career, the city of Angeles, and specifically Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, holds a major resonance and significance in his career. Along with over 10 New Year's Eve performances at the venue, a recent tradition has also included an open to close solo set throughout the summer months. The highlights of his August 2024 visit are featured on the show this week.

After a summer stay in Europe, Markus Schulz headed back home to Miami this week to begin preparations for the remainder of 2024, and the first port of call was a studio session for Global DJ Broadcast. His Club Mix of Till We Fade, featuring Emma Hewitt, has been an exclusive in his livesets throughout 2024, and will be released as a full single this Friday. It's included in the show, as well as a pair of In Search of Sunrise 20 compilation showcases from Airscape and Super8 & Tab; along with new singles from Cosmic Gate, BLR, Layton Giordani and ALAT. In the second hour, Mike EFEX joins for the guestmix, ahead of the release of his new single on Coldharbour Black, Malfunction.
