  • Episode Two : Not the End of Year Celebration
    Dec 12 2024

We hear lots of entertaining & inspiring tales about races, training and social from our amazing members that really capture the essence of Marple Runners.

In our second podcast episode Neil & Mark went along to Marple Runners End of Year Celebration to speak to members and hear about their running highlights of 2024. Many of them refused to talk to us perhaps feeling uncomfortable about being interviewed outside a lavatory but after a few sherbets to loosen their tongues, we were bowled over by the response; amazing, funny, inspiring, and some a little tipsy, but every one part of our running community. And they know how to party!

We're also joined by Eleanor with a runners roundup, Andy H with his Social tales, a very special guest, and some terrible singing. So after a good start, it might be all downhill from here...

Fun and mostly unscripted but it's about you, not us, so we hope you enjoy it enough to take us on your next run.

    Please note:

    - This episode includes some adult language.

    - No animals were harmed in the making of this podcast.

    Thanks.

With such a diverse collection of running experience across our little club, we hear lots of entertaining & inspiring tales about races, training and social from our amazing members that really capture the essence of Marple Runners and Neil & I thought that capturing those stories for everyone to enjoy would be a great Idea. So after a few fun evenings and a bit of planning, but not much, we are proud to present the first episode of Marple Runners Podcast. So, with the Chairman's blessing, or was it the last rites, here we go...

Our first Podcast guest is the father of Marple Parkrun, an original 2016 Marple Runners Club Committee member, and now our Club Championship Coordinator, James Kemp, who we invited over to tell us a little about Marple Runners origins, his introduction to running and how that developed into a career with Parkrun.

We're also joined by Eleanor C with Runners Roundup and Andy H for a jaunty jog around the social calendar,

It's fun and mostly unscripted but it's about you, not us, so we hope you enjoy it enough to take us on your next run.
