Look for a reopening sometime in 2026. This is likely part of the process of creating the Cars and Villains Lands. Sophie: Over at Disneyland, Louis’ Critter Club, the gift shop for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is set to open on November 13, two days before the opening of the attraction. Brenda: The narrators and information on dining packages was just dropped for the Candlelight Processional! Dining packages for the shows can be made beginning on October 29th. Connect with us! I miss the characters that used to be at Liberty Tree Tavern – Minnie Mouse and Pluto. This Day in Disney History for 10/21/2024: 1911: Disney Legend Mary Blair is born. Stump the Soph! The Aristocats A little bit of Walt “Ever since the beginning of wisdom, man has been fashioning a brighter light and a stronger glass to help him probe deeper and deeper into the marvels of nature’s secret world. . . Episode 240 - Which do we like better: DCL or Royal Caribbean? Which do we like better: DCL or Royal Caribbean? Hey everyone, I'm Mike, she's Sophie, that's Brenda, and he's Grogu, and we're On the Road with Mickey! This is episode 240 and this week our feature topic is Which do we like better: DCL or Royal Caribbean? In this episode, I'm sharing details on the cruise that my wife and I took on Royal Caribbean's latest ship, the Utopia of the Seas, as well as answering the question of which cruise line we like better! Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: At the time of recording, the State of Florida is being slammed by Hurricane Milton. Because of that, Cheddar just doesn’t mean as much. As a result, we here at On the Road with Mickey would like to pass along to everyone hearing that we are praying for all of you; we have all experienced storms like this before, and our prayer is for God to surround all of you with His protection now and in the aftermath. Verdict: Unanimously Disney! This Day in Disney History for 10/14/2024: 1971: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Attraction opens. Stump the Soph! Treasure Planet A little bit of Walt “Every person has his own ideas of the act of praying for God's guidance, tolerance, and mercy to fulfill his duties and responsibilities. My own concept of prayer is not as a plea for special favors nor as a quick palliation for wrongs knowingly committed. A prayer, it seems to me, implies a promise as well as a request; at the highest level, prayer not only is a supplication for strength and guidance, but also becomes an affirmation of life and thus a reverent praise of God.” - Walt Disney Coming Next Week: 2-Part Series: Disney Foods that need to return!

Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: Brenda: The Disney Treasure left dock at Meyer Werft shipyard and was guided by tugboat down the Ems River toward open water for the first time! In the coming days, the Treasure will go through its sea trials, which are a series of rigorous tests to make sure she is ready for her transatlantic journey towards Port Canaveral! Take a look at this incredible photo, courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog! Sophie: We are recording this week on September 19th. I say that because today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Ahoy ye mateys!!! Mike: Over at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe, they have a brand new menu coming out! Disney is labeling it as a “create-your-own” menu concept! So, as an example, you’ll pick a base, such as a steamed tamale, rice bowl, nacho bowl, or a southwest Caesar salad, then you’ll add in one of three proteins. You’ve also got options via ala carte such a burger or plant based option, sides like barbecue-cheddar seasoned french fries, charro beans, and other options. Best news of all is that some of the fan favorites from before are still available, like the cilantro-lime rice and strawberry limeade slushy. Connect with us! Weather, decorations and special events.” John added this: “Food and Wine at Epcot, Mickeys Not So Scary at least once. The Savanna ride at night at AKL.” Patti added her tips: “Best time to go. Weather is very mild, but there is always a chance for rain. Everyone really goes all out during Halloween Season. We drove by the new Epic Universe construction two weeks ago. Exciting to see the progress.” Lastly, Pam had this awesome suggestion that I totally forgot about! She wrote “If I'm not mistaken, and you'd know if I am, if you can plan a trip over Halloween and into Nov. 2-3, I'm thinking you can see both the beautiful fall/Halloween decor as well as the Christmas transformation. You can definitely verify, but if it's true, it's a great way to get 2 for 1.” Feature Topic: The ins and outs of Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single-Pass! • On the Road w/Mickey 237 – Tips for getting the most out of your Fall Trip to Disney!

Episode 237 - Tips for getting the most out of your Fall Trip to Disney! Tips for getting the most out of your Fall Trip to Disney! Hey everyone, I'm Mike, she's Sophie, that's Brenda, and he's Grogu, and we're On the Road with Mickey! This is episode 237 and this week our feature topic is Tips for getting the most out of your Fall Trip to Disney! In this episode, we look at the calendar, and how Autumn is almost upon us! Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: Mike: The hearts of the world are a little heavier now as we learned of the passing of Class of 2019 Disney Legend James Earl Jones at the age of 93 on September 9th. There are so many roles he was in; from the voice of Darth Vader, to Mufasa in The Lion King, my favorite is the impact he had in the movie Field of Dreams as the writer Terence Mann. We here at On the Road with Mickey extend our prayers to his family and friends that grieve his loss, and to a world that knew him through his work, and seems a little dimmer today. Brenda: Whoop de doo! Or is it Hoop Dee Doo! Yes, that’s right, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 5th! Sophie: Over at the Magic Kingdom, TRON Lightcycle/Run removed the Virtual Queue and switched to standby instead. The change started on September 9th. Connect with us! Here’s how: Facebook: https://facebook.ontheroadwithmickey.com Facebook Group: https://facebookgroup.ontheroadwithmickey.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/OntheRoadwithMickey Instagram: On the Road with Mickey Email: info@ontheroadwithmickey.com Listener Feedback: ABCs of Disney Chandler chimed in on our question about the letter T! He said: “Tigger. He's wonderful, bouncy, fun, fun, fun.” Feature Topic: Tips for getting the most out of your Fall Trip to Disney! Mike Be aware of early closings due to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Sunscreen still a must Take in the scenery with all of the fall decorations on display! If you are able to, take a day to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival kiosks! Perhaps eat around the world that day instead of making a table service reservation. If you have the Disney Dining Plan, you can use your credits for snacks at the kiosks, but you’ll go through your snack credits really quickly. Another option is to purchase a gift card with the wrist band and load up some money on that and use that for paying for your snacks at the F&W. I like to visit attractions that are more in-line with the season. For example, in the fall we’ve got Halloween, so The Haunted Mansion is a must. Beautiful skies, crisp temperatures, these kinds of days are made for Disney attractions. Tom Sawyer Island, enjoy it one last time while we still can! We don’t go here very often, but a stroll through Storybook Circus sounds really enticing to me right now. Perhaps a climb into Swiss Family Treehouse as well? If you are going to Animal Kingdom, a trip on the Safari, and a visit to Rafiki’s Planet Watch sound incredible also. Of course, it’s great any time of year, but on a cool Autumn day, a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad would be the pièce de résistance on a great day at the Magic Kingdom! Brenda Don’t forget that there are a lot of activities at your resort to enjoy! Poolside activities, games, family friendly, carriage ride at Riverside Tie-Dye shirts, campfires, silent disco, and on and on! Heated pools! Enjoy the pools Take advantage of enjoying things that you can’t enjoy at home! Namely, the Food & Wine Festival! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney’s Jollywood Nights! Resort Hopping to check out other resorts and plan and dream about where you might want to stay next time! Don’t forget about rider swap! The parents can swap who rides without waiting as long in lines. December 7th and 8th, Dapper Days! December 7th is Hollywood Studios, and December 8th is Animal Kingdom!
