It’s the final show of 2024 and Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News have a lot of exciting news to bring you from the right across the pinball world throughout November in the latest edition of their Pinball Industry News PINcast. There’s a new game launch as Spooky Pinball announce their latest title, Evil Dead, which boasts assets from both the first two movies as well as custom speech from the lead actor, all crammed into a widebody, multi-mech, richly-artworked cabinet. If the prospect of getting one of the 888 Collector’s Edition machines not enough to rattle your chains, you can also get a striking animated topper. After dipping their toe in the redemption pool ten years ago, Jersey Jack Pinball have made a big splash with their new Pinball XP redemption pinball system for larger family entertainment centres (FECs). It’s an impressive-looking showcase for JJP’s games and an excellent way to boost your redemption card’s value while having fun playing pinball. To find out more, Jonathan and Martin call up Jersey Jack himself, Jack Guarnieri, who is in Australia for the Melbourne Pinball Expo from where he explains how Pinball XP works and what those at the company are hoping to achieve with it. November means Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and this year there were loads of exciting deals on entire games, pinball parts and company merchandise. American Pinball had the greatest discounts with up to $3,000 off their top-end titles. There were plenty of savings on other models too, swiftly followed by 30% off parts and merchandise. Jersey Jack Pinball were in on the Black Friday fun too, with $1,000 off some of their titles, while Hexa Pinball in France took €500 off both models of their Space Hunt game. Hexa Pinball also announced a significant investment in their company from a very different games company. Who are they and what might that mean for future sales and future titles? Not wanting to miss out, Stern Pinball offered free domestic shipping on their parts and merchandise, while announcing a whole bunch of new merch and add-ons for their most recent titles. The PINcast duo also looks back on the events before, during and after the Dutch Pinball Open Expo which took place at the start of the month, and also look ahead to Stern’s upcoming Insider Connected Pinball Cup season of races which where the starting gun is about to be fired. There’s much more news from all the pinball companies in November’s PINcast, as well as the latest update on the Deeproot saga as the accusations swing from civil to criminal. • Pinball Magazine & Pinball News PINcast October 2024 recap
    Nov 4 2024

This month’s PINcast comes from the Dutch Pinball Open Expo and marks a unique moment as, for the first time ever, Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News present their monthly Pinball Industry News PINcast while actually together at the same desk. Plus, they bring in two special guests, with David van Es from Barrels of Fun and Daniel Janson from Pinball Brothers, both of whom have some exciting news to share. However, as you’ll hear, not everything went entirely to plan. October’s Pinball Industry News largely revolved around the 40th anniversary Pinball Expo, the manufacturers stands, their seminar presentations and their factory tours. Dutch Pinball Exclusive, having revealed their Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland title earlier in the month, premiered the now sold-out game at Pinball Expo with three machines on their stand for guests to play, and also held a seminar about the making of the game. Meanwhile, Stern Pinball, off the back of announcing their The Uncanny X-Men brought out another new title with Metallica Remastered – an updated and enhanced version of their 2013 Metallica game. They premiered this on their Pinball Expo factory tour and then brought it to their stand at the show, along with a seminar by the game’s designer John Borg. There were multiple talks at Pinball Expo from the pinball makers explaining how they created their latest releases, including Avatar: The Battle for Pandora, The Uncanny X-Men, John Wick and Jaws, along with tours of Stern Pinball, Jersey Jack Pinball, American Pinball and Chicago Gaming. Naturally, Jonathan and Martin were both there to report on the excitement and bring you video recordings of the key seminars. Then, a fortnight later, they reunited in Veldhoven in the Netherlands for the 25th anniversary Dutch Pinball Open Expo from where they recorded this latest October 2024 edition of the Pinball Magazine and Pinball News PINcast – the podcast the pinball industry listens to. Unfortunately, without access to their normal recording equipment, the quality of the sound isn’t up to their usual standard, but they hope you can bear with them for this one-off special recording. You can grab it right now from your favourite podcast supplier, find it on YouTube and YouTube Music, or get it direct from Spotify on the link above, and don’t forget you can also subscribe to the PINcast to guarantee you get the freshest episode every month the very moment it is published. As you’ll hear, there is so much happening in the pinball industry right now and coming up very soon, so make sure you join Jonathan and Martin each month to ensure you don’t miss any of it.

The good news is that a new month means a new Pinball Industry News PINcast with Jonathan Joosten from Pinball Magazine and Martin Ayub from Pinball News. Having covered the first few days of the month in the previous PINcast, the duo look back on all the excitement from the pinball world throughout the remainder of September. After numerous teases, Jersey Jack Pinball finally announced their tenth game with the launch of Avatar: The Battle for Pandora. Featuring six flippers, three under-playfield areas and numerous wireforms criss-crossing the playfield, perhaps the greatest innovation is the use of UV-reactive ink across the playfield, plastics, inserts and sculpts. There’s also a first-time pinball artist who created the playfield, cabinet and backbox art package, as well as a musician who composed the music for his first ever production pinball. The company has been busy in Europe too, attending the IAAPA Europe event en masse, as well as hosting an evening with Gary Stern at the Dutch Pinball Museum. October is Pinball Expo month, so this latest PINcast looks ahead at what we can expect from all the major players at the show. There’s also full details of the extensive seminar schedule and how you can get to enjoy all the main talks even if you can’t be there in person. There’s news about the debut of Homepin’s new The Blues Brothers game, who has signed an exclusivity agreement with Spooky Pinball, when you can see and play DPX’s new Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, who is manufacturing what, and why it looks like your final chance to get one of these titles before it is discontinued. Get all this and so very much more in this latest September 2024 edition of the Pinball Magazine and Pinball News PINcast – the podcast the pinball industry listens to.
