Today we're sharing 2023's episode with the wonderful Viv Groskop.

    From the episode notes...

Happy high status is a new way of thinking about confidence and how you relate to yourself. It's how actors and comedians enhance their presence on stage and screen. It lends strength and energy to your interactions, big and small, and is a way of projecting status, minimising self-doubt and moving effortlessly through life. Viv's book is out now!

Drawing on research, practical tips and lessons from the worlds of comedy, film, television, politics and sport, Viv Groskop offers a masterclass in how you can access this new form of confidence at any time. All, crucially, with no risk of anyone thinking that you are your own biggest fan.

Viv Groskop is an award-winning writer, stand-up comedian, playwright and TV and radio presenter. She is the host of the podcast How Own the Room, with over 2 million downloads and guests including Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Margaret Atwood, Professor Mary Beard, Nigella Lawson and very occasionally a man like Brian Cox

  • Replay: Understanding Your Fertility with Dr Helen O’Neill
    Dec 17 2024

Continuing Adrienne's look back at some of her favourite episodes of the Power Hour, we look at the brilliant episode with Dr Helen O'Neill, founder of Hertility.

    From the show notes...

Dr Helen is the co-founder and CEO of Hertility, and is a lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics and a leading expert in reproductive science. She has a Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology from UCL. Her research focuses on pre-implantation embryo development and the use of CRISPR genome editing to assess understanding and treatment of disorders of infertility.

You can follow Dr Helen @dr.helenoneill and Hertility @hertility_health

    Why Hertility was born…

For too long, women have been dismissed by the healthcare system. Their bodies are ’too complicated’ to understand and their health conditions remain ‘elusive’. So, we’re revolutionising reproductive healthcare and putting women front and centre of everything we do.

By bringing reproductive science out of the lab and into the hands of every single woman worldwide, we’re setting a new standard of scientific rigour and education in female health to nurture the Mother of all movements - one powered by a new generation of women who back their bodies and their life choices.

Progress doesn’t Need permission

I listened to the podcast 4 times! I brought Eric’s book and it was so timely for me. As a retired professional, I had gone from taking risk to checking in family & friends on everything. I wanted life to look right. I realized after hearing the podcast that it was another way me, a black women, was asking for permission. That stopped that day! Thank you Eric & Adrienne!
