Is it Arthursday yet?

I've been listening to Isaac's videos / podcast for probably close to half a decade now. I've always had a love for science but he always makes me fall in love again with both the incredible depths be dives to but also the optimism he constantly shows.

Great resource for writers and fans alike.

Even if you like your sci-fi more as space fantasy. SFIA is a great showcase of the immensity of scale that most Sci-fi lack and just what wild and crazy stories could be written about that never really get any love in modern literature.

The best of our time

I don’t know how he does it, but Isaac is able to weave unique storytelling with physics in a way that few people can.

The modern master of sci-fi speculation

Isaac Arthur approaches futurism and sci-fi topics with unparalleled intelligence and nerdy humor. As a lifelong sci-fi need and professional scientist, there aren't a lot of authors who I can read anymore and make me feel like I've expanded my mind. Isaac is the major exception, and I recommend him wholeheartedly!

Current Day Asimov in the making

I've been listening to this guys episodes on youtube for years. The short version is this...
If you want to be told a normal story, look elsewhere. If you want to actually understand the concepts that so many sci-fi shows are based on, then spend alot of time on this podcast. Pick a topic, and just start listening. Don't know where to start, just click one at random. You wont regret it.

I also use this man's show to fall asleep to! The ideas are so big and the narration so friggin smooth I just can't help it! I came upon him so many years ago when he was worried about his speech but man!! It just didn't really matter. I can listen to you all day my man! You rock! Favorite. Podcast. Ever. Hands down. Even the kids delve in when they need a little thought provocation. Enjoyment for the whole family. Trust the reviews!!!!!

One of the best shows in my lifetime

Welcome to SFIA! Grab a drink and a snack and we'll get into this review.

I've been following SFIA since Isaac's first few videos on YouTube.
If you're old enough to remember the pre-internet days of broadcast television, do you remember being a kid and impatiently looking forward to your favorite show each week?
SFIA makes me feel that way each week as an adult.
Every week it's a highlight of my week and I look forward to it with anticipation. Even after following it every week for years, I still feel like that.

What is SFIA? It's as the name implies: a look at the potential future, normally within the constraints of what is (at least at the moment) known to be scientifically possible. Ideas are explored of what mankind can do in the near to far future, why we may choose to do certain things and not others, etc. It's a rabbit hole of possibility and thought experiment and, if you're like me, it's quite the enjoyable mental journey. Occasional dedicated episodes will indulge into science fiction just for fun as well (Scifi Sundays).

This show has been a blessing to me for many years but especially so during the pandemic. I have found it a wonderful mental stimulation to ponder these ideas and it has been incredibly uplifting to consider all the marvelous things we can and will accomplish. If you're at all like me, this show is chicken soup for the soul.
The host, Isaac Arthur, is a delight to listen to. His personality is perfect for exploring these concepts and every episode is very thoroughly researched. This show is incredibly well produced and entertaining as well.

If you enjoy exploring ideas about what the future may hold you really owe it to yourself to check out a few episodes.
