  • Body Puzzle (1992): The bunks behead themselves
    Jan 20 2025

The story so far: After almost a year of being trapped in an underground VHS movie rental store managed by a magical anthropomorphic mole man, the boys find themselves curse by a box that's swapped the heads between their bodies. Maybe an obscure 90's giallo could break the curse...

This week on the podcast, it's time for Italian cinema! Join the boys as they indulge in Lamberto Bava's 1992 psychological-thriller-giallo Body Puzzle. Will they lose themselves as they investigate the grisly series of murders surrounding a beautiful widow, or will they get distracted talking about bunks, Bavas, snorting salt, and dangerous horse boys. Also hopefully they can break this curse that's got their heads swapped between bodies. Definitely doesn't end in another grisly multi-murder. I promise.

    Jan 13 2025

Still stuck down a magical movie mole hole, the boys take a deep dive into the 1977 Japanese occult film Curse of the Dog God. Along the way, they discuss accidental animal-vehicle homicide. If you were a demon-possessed soul, what food would lure you out? And what exactly is the mysterious inugami, and why does it matter in Japanese folklore? It’s doggy deities gone wild!

    Jan 6 2025

The story so far: The boys have been trapped in an underground 80s movie store for almost a year and are doing their best to stay alive and entertained.

We veer way off the tracks on this one and end up discussing the Amish, new ED solutions, horse girls, Porking With Greg, and St Jon McBride the patron saint of SOV film!

    Dec 30 2024

The story so far: Energy is waning in the movie hole as the boys sober up after all the recent holiday celebrations only to sink into the dread of a new year looming ahead of them.

Happy new year! Happy new year? Oh god, it's a new year. Join the boys as they dive face-first into their anxieties about the coming year by watching the cult classic Richard Stanley film Hardware (1990). Will the stellar direction, lighting, editing and performances win us over? Or will we get distracted by kids on leashes, claiming "Hershey highway" for Pennsylvanians, perverted Porkins, and yet another robot with a metal dong. Listen to find out!

  • Black Christmas (1974): It's beginning to look a lot like murder
    Dec 23 2024

In this special Christmas themed episode, the boys dive deep into the genre-defining 1974 classic Black Christmas. While taking dirty phone calls and breaking down the film, we create the new Christmas franchise "Scare-olers”, make our own holiday anthology, and spend a lot of time talking about why movies are freaking cool. • The Boy God (1982): Like a gift from God or whatever
    Dec 16 2024

The story so far: Having become trapped underground in an 80s-era movie store run by a mole man for almost a year, the boys are starting to plan for the upcoming holidays!

This week, the boys are on the receiving end of some divine intervention and end up watching The Boy God (1982), a fantasy/horror/kids film from the Philippines! While it's not an actual Christmas film, we get into discussions about pegging in jeggings, Sonic the Hedgehog, low-budget FX, and, if we could, what God would we be. There's nothing narcissistic about it!

  • The Apple (1980): Scurvy musicals
    Dec 9 2024

The story so far: Almost a year ago, the boys got trapped in a magical movie hole, and as a result Dan is beginning to show signs of scurvy...

This week, join the boys as we break down the infamous 1980's musical disaster The Apple. While learning about the history and plot of the film, we also discuss the history of Cannon Films, when underground movies are too above-ground, the sledgehammer of bad subtext, soft 80s bodies, and how hard it is to keep saying words like Bibi and Bim with a straight face.

Also, Eric mentions his Maine Brewing Company beer is supporting a good cause. It started as a joke but actually it's pretty cool. You can learn more about Wolfe's Neck Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment here:
