It's 2025, and Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is BACK for the first podcast episode of the year. We officially enter the fourth year of StrangeCast's run and we're 10 episodes away from hitting a milestone 100th episode! Of course, we'll be here to keep fans company on ALL things Deck Nine, Don't Nod, Square Enix and Life Is Strange throughout 2025.

For this episode of the podcast, Adnan and Adam sit down to discuss their ONLY news topic for the show. The StrangeCast hosts chat about what Life Is Strange co-director and co-creator Michel Koch had to say about Chloe Price's hair colour and adding more information to the character's lore.

Hey, folks! We're bringing this impromptu episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast in the wake of the Deck Nine layoffs. Just a very important PSA: we recorded this episode on Saturday (7th December), so we are well aware even more layoffs have happened. We will be covering more of the layoffs, including Felice Kuan's departure, on the next full episode of StrangeCast, which will drop next week. Just keep in mind when we were recording while listening to this episode.

Back on topic: Adnan and Adam shared their immediate reaction to the news that Life Is Strange: Double Exposure developer Deck Nine had announced its second round of layoffs in 2024. At the time of recording, the layoffs included Double Exposure director Jonathan Stauder. Adnan has since been covering the layoffs on social media and has found close to 20 confirmed ex-Deck Nine devs who have been laid off.

What does this mean for the Life Is Strange franchise and Double Exposure's sequel? Can -- or will -- Deck Nine bounce back from this? Will Square Enix begin to pivot the direction of the series? The StrangeCast hosts discuss all of that and more on this special episode of the podcast.

Yup, there is only one topic on hand for this StrangeCast episode: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure.

After months and months of covering Life Is Strange: Double Exposure — the latest entry in the beloved Square Enix franchise from developer Deck Nine — Adnan and Adam sit down for their long-awaited review and spoilercast episode for the latest title from the Life Is Strange: True Colors and Before the Storm studio.

Our review system for Double Exposure uses a 10-point scale as part of a five-star rating, meaning our score can include half-star ratings. Adnan and Adam reveal their individual scores for Double Exposure before coming to a consensus on StrangeCast's overall rating.

For transparency: Adnan and Adam reviewed Double Exposure using copies bought on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X respectively. Neither Adnan nor Adam bought or played the Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition. We did not reach out to publisher Square Enix for review keys, nor were we ever approached about receiving copies of Double Exposure.
