    We dissect the conspiracy theories around Eron's Ken Lay and his mysterious death, George W Bush covers Eamon's "F**k It (I don;t want you back)", Fat Joe leans back and we provide a long awaited update on Aussie reality music TV sensation Selwyn.

    It's our best of the best for the year 2004 where the internet’s favorite new words take center stage 📖, we find out who Time’s Person of the Year was and look at all the hot topics that were trending on Google search🌟.

    On the music charts, there were epic dance tracks 🕺, soulful ballads, and funky throwbacks dominating airwaves. Over on iTunes, fans downloaded pop hits and rock anthems that are now karaoke classics 🎤.

    Gamers embraced groundbreaking releases, from a crime-filled sandbox adventures 🚘 to a timeless Nintendo handheld console 🎮. At the movies, superheroes, ogres, and wizards ruled the box office 🍿. Meanwhile, bookshelves overflowed with conspiracy-laden thrillers 📚, sparking debates that were just as fiery as the reviews.

    On the tech front, Mozilla Firefox gave web browsing a slick new look 🔥🦊, Google introduced Gmail 📧, and The Facebook began its quiet revolution—back when “poking” was still a thing.

    It was a year of cultural firsts, seismic shifts, and digital beginnings that still echo through our lives today. 🌍✨

  • A wall of water, a world in pain - the Boxing Day Tsunami

    🌏 On December 26, the Boxing Day Tsunami, triggered by a 9.3 magnitude earthquake, devastated 14 countries, including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. With waves up to 30 meters high traveling at 800 km/h, nearly 228,000 lives were lost, 167,000 in Indonesia alone. The disaster exposed the lack of warning systems and even shifted Earth’s rotation slightly.

    Sony’s PSP launched in Japan on December 12, redefining handheld gaming 🎮. With console-quality graphics, Wi-Fi, and UMD discs for games and movies, it became a multimedia sensation, selling over 80 million units globally.

    Meanwhile, Ciara’s 1, 2 Step had everyone dancing 🪩, and Tupac’s posthumous Loyal to the Game, produced by Eminem, stirred debate with remixed vocals. In Australia, Kasey Donovan’s Listen with Your Heart topped the charts, while the UK embraced Do They Know It’s Christmas? 🎄.

    At the movies, Ocean’s 12 delivered heist thrills, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events brought dark whimsy, and Meet the Fockers broke Christmas Day box office records with laugh-out-loud family chaos 🎬.

    On bookshelves, Night Fall by Nelson DeMille explored TWA Flight 800 conspiracies, though its ending left some readers unimpressed 📚.

  • Tragedy at the Alrosa VIlla

    It's a week full of heartbreak. There's no way to sugar coat it, but we will press on and make the best of it.

    On December 8, tragedy struck the music world 💔 when an obsessed fan killed Dimebag Darrell Abbott and three others during a Damageplan performance at the Alrosa Villa nightclub. The shooting riased a LOT of questions about the safety of music venues but also fuelled the gun debate in the USA, which shows no sign of changing 20 years and countless senseless shootings after the fact...

    On the same day, IBM sold its PC division to Lenovo 💻 for $1.75 billion, marking the end of an era. After pioneering personal computers and creating the iconic ThinkPad, IBM shifted to AI and cloud computing ☁️, while Lenovo became the world’s largest PC maker.

    At the 15th Billboard Music Awards 🎤, Usher dominated with 13 wins 🏆, Alicia Keys claimed 7, and rising star Kanye West earned New Male Artist of the Year. On the charts, hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot” 🔥 and “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” 🎄 kept the world singing.

    In theaters, the puppet-powered satire Team America: World Police 🇺🇸 made waves, while National Treasure 🗺️ thrilled U.S. audiences. Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan dropped her debut album “Speak” 🎶, led by the angsty anthem “Rumors,” which became a platinum success.

    Finally, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen pledged maternity leave 👶 for Bangladeshi workers producing their fashion line, earning praise for promoting ethical practices.

    But in Wales, it was all about the glow-up! ✨ After years of drama (and a scrapped Zaha Hadid opera house), the Wales Millennium Centre finally opened its doors. With its slate-clad walls and local flair, this cultural hub proved you can mix world-class art with a bit of Welsh grit. 🎶🦉

    Meanwhile, Shawn Fanning—the Napster bad boy turned music industry’s reformed rebel—launched SNOCAP. Imagine Napster, but legal. His tech promised a win-win for artists and fans alike, but could it survive in the wild west of early digital music? 🤔💿

    On the airwaves, Mario crooned “Let Me Love You” while Joel Turner’s These Kids delivered an Aussie Idol redemption arc with a beatbox edge and a heavy message about youth struggles. 🎤🇦🇺🎭
