  • S4 E29: The Mysterious Crying Boy Painting & Other Cursed Objects
    Oct 14 2024

Welcome back to another spine-tingling episode of your favorite podcast, That Would Be Rad!

This week, Tyler and Woody dive into the enigmatic and chilling tale of "The Curse of the Crying Boy." Set against the backdrop of the hauntingly beautiful fall mornings, they explore the eerie legend surrounding a seemingly innocent painting that left a trail of destruction across England in the 1980s.

Imagine a painting so cursed that it survives fires that destroy entire homes. This is the story of the Crying Boy, a portrait that has been linked to over 50 mysterious house fires, leaving only the painting unscathed amidst the ashes. Tyler and Woody unravel the layers of this mystery, questioning whether the painting is merely a victim of mass hysteria or if it holds a darker, supernatural power.

As they delve deeper, they explore the possible connections between art and energy, pondering whether emotions can be trapped in brushstrokes and whether these emotions can manifest in the real world. They also touch on the fascinating world of chaos magic and its potential influence on this bizarre phenomenon.

Join us for a captivating journey into the unknown as we examine cursed objects, from haunted paintings to sinister vases, and consider the possibility that some things are better left untouched. Whether you're here for the high strangeness, the eerie tales, or just to hear two best friends explore the unexplained, this episode promises to keep you on the edge of your seat.

  • S4 E27: You're Being Impersonated By the Other Voice - THE GARY SUDBRINK STORY
    Sep 23 2024

Welcome back to another episode of your favorite podcast, That Would Be Rad! This week, Tyler and Woody dive deep into the eerie world of mysterious phone calls, doppelgangers, and strange encounters with the unknown.

Our story begins in early February 1993, a time when Bill Clinton had just taken office, Aladdin was still dominating the box office, and Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" was the anthem playing everywhere. It was a pre-smartphone era, where landlines ruled and mysterious calls could send shivers down your spine.

Enter Gary Sudbrink, an Air Force captain stationed in San Antonio, Texas, who decided to take a surprise trip to visit his family in Long Island, New York. Little did he know, this trip would lead to a series of bizarre and unsettling phone calls that remain unexplained to this day.

Imagine receiving a call from a robotic, mechanical voice that knows intimate details about your life, asking strange questions and making cryptic statements like "Keep your eye on the skies near Orion" and "We come to be within this planet." This is exactly what happened to Gary, and he had the presence of mind to record these calls, adding a layer of credibility and intrigue to this already mysterious case.

As we dissect these calls, we explore various theories, from government interference and men in black encounters to time travel and interdimensional beings. Could these calls be a warning? An attempt to communicate from another dimension? Or something even more sinister?

Join us as we unravel the details of this strange case, discuss its implications, and share our thoughts on what might really be going on. Whether you're here for the high strangeness, the eerie nostalgia of the '90s, or just to hear two best friends dive deep into the unknown, this episode has something for everyone.
