• Love the Lord - Pt. 2
    Jan 13 2025

What would you say if a husband professed deep love for his wife, then followed up his declaration with, “But my life is just so busy, I only have 5 minutes a day I can spend with her”? You would call that man a liar. The greatest revealer of what we love is how we spend our time. Join Nate and Gabe as they dig deeper into this foundational command.

This is the foundational bedrock of the Christian life: God loves us. When we receive that love, it changes us. Our desire is that this new study on the command of Christ to “Love the Lord” will open your eyes to see the love of God for you. Receiving God’s love is the one thing that will ignite in us a desire to love Him back and then enable us to become channels of His love to others.

  • Love the Lord - Pt. 1
    Jan 6 2025

If we were to be honest, most of us would admit that we view God’s laws and commandments as a rigid checklist of do’s and don'ts. But have you ever considered that all the commands have their foundation in love? It is life changing when we realize that all the commands are actually an expression of love - God’s love to us and our love to God and others.

This is the foundational bedrock of the Christian life: God loves us. When we receive that love, it changes us. • Caleb Reed - God’s Commands: A Burden or a Joy?
    Dec 30 2024

What feeling does the word command evoke in you? Do you view commands as something hard, frustrating, and grievous? For many of us, God’s commands can make us feel frustrated and burdened because we view them as something we must do in our own effort. But did you know obedience to God’s commands is supposed to be a joy and even a liberty?

In today’s guest episode with Caleb Reed, your view of God Himself will be challenged as you see commands from a totally different perspective. God’s commands don’t flow from a desire to make us just behave and “stay in line.” His commands flow from a heart of love. God’s commandments are an invitation from our loving heavenly Father to go deeper into a relationship with Him. If we find that obedience is a burden and a chore, it doesn’t mean that the command is wrong. It simply means that our view of God is off and we don’t understand His heart of love in giving the command. When we see and understand His love for us, obedience will become a joy.

Caleb Reed is an evangelist who travels full time with his family preaching in churches, camps, and Christian schools. He and his wife Emma have 3 children. They have a burden specifically for the local church. They desire to come alongside local pastors and aid them in equipping the saints.

  • Render to Caesar - Pt. 4
    Dec 23 2024

Have you ever considered that Jesus was born in Bethlehem (thus fulfilling the Old Testament prophecy) because Joseph and Mary were “rendering to Caesar the things that were Caesar’s”? They literally traveled to Bethlehem to pay taxes! Albeit under the rule of the corrupt Roman government, God’s divine orchestration was taking place. This episode will encourage you as Nate and Gabe share Biblical examples of “rendering to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”

In this often overlooked command to “Render to Caesar”, Nate and Gabe will unearth the context and background of this command as well as the rich application that this holds for our lives here and now. First and foremost, we are to “render to God things that are God's” - namely we are to surrender to God our lives which bear His image! And secondly we are to “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s.” It is beautiful to realize that when we honor the God-ordained authority structure, we are actually honoring God Himself and showcasing His love to those in authority!

  • Render to Caesar - Pt. 3
    Dec 16 2024

What is the difference between an owner and a steward? If you own something, it means you have absolute control over it. However if you are a steward it means that a thing is owned by somebody else and you just manage it in a way that honors their heart and wishes. In this powerful episode, Nate and Gabe bring up key aspects of how we view money and possessions. Where is your focus when it comes to material things?

  • Render to Caesar - Pt. 2
    Dec 9 2024

The “double command” in this command is eye-opening! Jesus didn’t just command us to “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's”; He also commanded us to “render to God the things that are God’s.” Truly everything we have is from the Lord and is to be used for the Lord. If we gain a vision for “rendering to God the things that are God’s”, it will have a profound impact on every aspect of our lives.

  • Render to Caesar - Pt. 1
    Dec 2 2024

The atmosphere would have been tense. People would have been waiting with baited breath to hear Jesus’ answer. “Should we pay the tax to Caesar?”, was both a politically and religiously charged question. And it was asked intentionally to trap Jesus. Would He openly come out against Rome? Would He openly speak against His people, the Jews? Listen as Gabe and Nate share how Jesus cut right to their heart - in profound wisdom, He addressed the question in a way that was irrefutable by either side.

  • Bring In the Poor - Pt. 4
    Nov 25 2024

How do we help people without enabling them? How do we help without hurting? These are tricky questions and often we find ourselves being either cynical to people or gullible. While there is not a “formula” to this, there is a key: we need to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit. God's heart is for the poor, and He wants us to have an ear that is turned toward the needs of people. But at the same time, we need to have an ear that is turned heavenward and listening to the Him and how He wants to meet the need.

Do you desire to have God’s heart for the needy in your life? Do you want to see people the way that He sees them? God is no respecter of persons - His heart is the same for all people! We need to recognize that the ground is level at the foot of the cross - the reality is that we are all poor and needy! When we see God’s heart of love for us, we are then able to be a channel of that love and kindness to others.
