    On this episode, we turn to one of the most protracted conflicts of the postwar period, namely the conflict in Northern Ireland, more commonly referred to as the Troubles and the tortuous road to peace which culminated in the groundbreaking Good Friday Agreement signed in 1998.     On this episode, I discuss veterans movements and the European integration process of the 1950s and early 1960s with Alexander Hobe, a research associate at the Hamburg Institute of Social Research and a PhD student at Humboldt University in Berlin where his dissertation focuses on the democratization of the veterans’ movement in West Germany and France in the post-war period, with a particular attention to transnational links between both movements.
