  • Beliefs Part 3 - You Are Not Alone with Lauren Swenson
    Dec 4 2024

Do you need to be reminded that you are not alone? This week I’m pleased to introduce you to my dear friend, Lauren Swenson. Lauren and I have been friends for decades and walked through the many seasons of jobs, children, crises, and celebrations that make up the fabric of our lives. What I’ve always appreciated about her is her loyalty, wisdom, faithfulness and authenticity. So, I thought she would be great to join my series on Beliefs.

Listen in as we share insights we’ve learned along the way and how our beliefs have impacted our responses to life. We agree that we are not made to bear life alone…or even celebrate alone. More importantly, when plot twists in life come at us unexpectedly, it is our beliefs anchored in our faith that help us navigate challenging times.

    Cheering you on!

  • Beliefs Part 2 - You Are Made For More with Ryan Ross and Cody Vermillion
    Nov 20 2024

This week I talk with my good friends, Cody Vermillion and Ryan Ross. Two faith leaders and entrepreneurs from San Diego CA. We talk about our beliefs around work, family, creativity, our passion for serving humanity, and how we are all made for more. You’ll see why I chose them to be a part of this series on Beliefs. And I can reassure you that after knowing them for years, they are the real deal. They “live out” what they believe.

No matter what beliefs you hold or where you are in your faith, my hope is you will find a comfortable seat at this table. So, pull up a chair. May you find value and inspiration as we talk about what it means to live more valiantly as we address what limits us and dare to believe in the “more” we each long for.

Ryan and Cody are doing something unconventional… quite uncommon, actually. Hence, the name of their work, UNCMN Creative, and their ministry, Uncommon Good. Learn more at uncommongoodsd.com

  • Beliefs Part 1 - You Are What You Believe
    Nov 6 2024

Everyone believes in something. Like your diet affects your body, your beliefs affect in your mind and heart. You are what you believe. The hope is that as we evolve and mature, we learn to evaluate what we believe and how we got there. More importantly, are there any beliefs we have outgrown or perhaps are no longer serving us? In fact, in the work I do, I see how many beliefs are limiting us. This is why I want to talk about our beliefs. So join me for the start of my series on beliefs where I share my own journey, explain how to take inventory of your beliefs, and let go of the fears that fuel your false beliefs.

  • REPLAY: Aligning with Your Higher Purpose with Sharon McMahon
    Oct 30 2024

We are wrapping up our Crossroads podcast series and looking ahead to a new series on Beliefs. So I wanted to re-release my conversation with Sharon McMahon from last Fall. Why? First of all, because election season is right around the corner and we need her voice ringing loud and clear. Second, because this conversation is such a great set up to talk about Beliefs and how they influence us to go after the life we are made for.

Not to mention that when Sharon and I last talked, neither of us had released our new books. And boy is she having a moment! The Small and the Mighty has opened powerful conversations. Sharon is stepping into political arenas and government spaces like no one else. Which is truly inspiring. In addition, it was in this conversation that I realized I wanted Sharon to endorse my book–Grace Space–which she so graciously agreed to. I am so honored to be associated with her.

The world desperately needs Sharon McMahon’s transparency about aligning her beliefs with her higher calling. So her words are timely. Stepping into the life you are made for requires intentionality, focus, and being ok with limitations. She talks candidly about the challenges of distractions and the importance of being confident in your strengths—as well as your limitations. Plus you’ll hear how relationships are important for staying balanced. So, I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did—even for a second time!

  • Crossroads Part 4: How Your Beliefs Drive Change with Jen Vermillion
    Oct 23 2024

How do your beliefs drive change? How can they keep you stuck? This week I speak with my friend and former coaching client, Jen Vermillion of Made To Create. In this conversation, she shares insights from her coaching journey. Including how her beliefs shifted during our time as well as the way she helps her clients latch onto true beliefs instead of false beliefs. We also discuss the myth of "balance", especially for women, along with the difference between technical thinking and human thinking when going after the life you're made for.

For those of you being coached, wanting to become a coach or considering coaching, this is a good episode for you!

    Connect with Jen at iammadetocreate.com

Jennifer Vermillion is the founder and host of the Made to Create Podcast, which serves to debunk the myths of creativity so that everyone can live their most creative life. Jen has not always believed she was a very creative person. But coming to understand that we are all made in the image of a creative God helped her realize that we all are creative in some way, shape, or form. Jen is a wife and mother of three kids in San Diego, CA. When she is not wrangling kids, working full time, or podcasting you can find her baking sourdough and trying to keep her plants alive.
