  • S3E2: Bad Day for Murdaugh in Retrial Bid
    Jan 20 2024

Alex Murdaugh's defense team entered the ring throwing haymakers in a pre-hearing status conference on January 16th, hoping to bludgeon open a clear path to a retrial in Murdaugh's murder case. But retired South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal, the newly appointed judge on the case, parried and rebuffed Murdaugh's ambitious volleys in stunning and decisive fashion. Now Murdaugh's opening to land the decisive blow against his dual murder convictions and life sentence appears vanishingly small.

Join Anne Emerson, Charlie Condon and Drew Tripp as they recap the important day in court and preview Murdaugh's upcoming evidentiary hearing on the controversial jury tampering allegations.

like the show

I really like this show except for 1 thing. Drew needs to learn to communicate and make his points without taking up half of the show saying nothing. My mother used to say "they are talking to hear their head rattle" meaning lots of words, talking for 5 minutes when the point could have been made in 1 minute. Drew know you are Ex. Producer but for goodness sake make you point and stop talking. I really like listening to the other two.

Why?

Why has this podcast stopped making new editions? I thought it was really rather good, and wish it would update the Murdaugh saga.

Trial recap

I am enjoying the daily recap of the trial. Charlie Condon's point of view is especially interesting.

Very Informative

The narrative to this real time unfolding case out of low country South Carolina does a great job in telling the story of a double murder that almost daily results in evidence that uncovers the decades of deceit, theft, murder, corruption & overreach of a family that has built a legal dynasty in that community over the span of more than 100 years.

Informative and easy listen that cuts to the chase!

This is by far the best podcast I’ve found so far on the Murdaugh crimes. The reporter has a great voice to listen to. She keeps to the timeline as closely as possible and, while she does report some ‘extra’ information, it all ties in. This whole Murdaugh drama is so unbelievable and difficult to track. This podcast lays it all out there. Give it a listen.
