It wouldn't be a Wednesday without your favourite podcast no one has ever heard of serving up a fresh episode to massage your earholes and guide you through what's left of the week.

I kicked off this week's podcast with a behind-the-scenes update from Nation HQ that had basically the whole staff cheering for Oilers losses. I know that sounds like something that shouldn't happen at a company called Oilersnation, but things tend to change when Tyler Yaremchuk makes a cat food bet. And seeing as last night's game was the deciding factor in whether or not Tyler got back into the meow mix, the results had everyone in our orbit dialled into every goal and mistake.

Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, the team won their first game of the season last night against Philadelphia, but they sure didn't make it easy on themselves. Starting with two quick power play goals against, the Oilers found themselves in a hole before the first period was even half-over, and I don't think I'm talking out of school when I said the vibes were anything but bright. Fortunately, a pair of scraps from two unlikely combatants seemed to right the ship a little bit, and our boys went on to win, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't look dicey there for a minute.

Finally, I wrapped up this quick episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about goaltender interference before wrapping up the show with another round of voicemails. The inbox was a lot quieter this week, which was a significant change of pace from where we've been at over the last couple of episodes, but that didn't mean you fine folks didn't still make me laugh anyways. I certainly had a healthy chuckle listening to everything that's been on your mind over the last seven days.
