  • Henry Reviews with Special Guest Heather Cooper - Def Leppard Hysteria Album
    Jan 16 2025
Henry Reviews with Special Guest Heather Cooper - Def Leppard "Hysteria" Album - Episode 12 Henry Peralta of the band Blue Monday and Wild Card reviews with Special Guest and Lead singer of his band Blue Monday, Heather Cooper, the band Def Leppard and the great album "Hysteria." In 2024, Heather Cooper joined Blue Monday to take over as primary singer and has partnered successfully with Henry to deliver the powerful shows on behalf of the band. Heather tells her amazing story of how she came to music and singing as a young girl, and her incredible journey to rock and roll singer. The album Heather has chosen is the historic album "Hysteria" by one of her favorite bands, the British rock powerhouse Def Leppard. Hysteria is the fourth studio album by Def Leppard, released on 3 August 1987, by Mercury Records. The album is the follow-up to the band's 1983 breakthrough, Pyromania. Hysteria's creation took over three years and was plagued by delays, including the aftermath of drummer Rick Allen's accident that cost him his left arm on 31 December 1984. Subsequent to the album's release, Def Leppard published a book titled Animal Instinct: The Def Leppard Story, written by Rolling Stone magazine senior editor David Fricke, on the three-year recording process of Hysteria and the difficult times the band endured through the mid-1980s. Lasting 62 minutes and 32 seconds, it is the band's longest studio album to date. Hysteria was the band's third album to be produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange. The title of the album was conceived by Allen referring to his car accident, the amputation of his arm, and the ensuing worldwide media coverage surrounding it. It is the last album to feature guitarist Steve Clark before his death in 1991, although songs co-written by him would appear on the band's next album, Adrenalize (1992). It soon became a worldwide commercial success, reaching number one on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. It is Def Leppard's best-selling album to date, selling over 30 million copies worldwide, including 15 million in the US, and spawned seven hit singles. It remains one of the best-selling albums of all time. • History of GREENLAND - Land of Ice and Spirit - World's Largest Island
    Jan 14 2025
History of GREENLAND - Land of Ice and Spirit - World's Largest Island On Traveling Through History, we take a look at the history of the island and country of GREENLAND, the land of "Ice and Spirit" and the world's largest island. The country has a very interesting history, with early settlers dating all the way back to 2,500 BCE all the way up to modern day, where the island country has never been more important and strategic to the United States and Europe because of its global location and bountiful resources. The history of Greenland is a history of life under extreme Arctic conditions: currently, an ice sheet covers about eighty percent of the island, restricting human activity largely to the coasts. The first humans are thought to have arrived in Greenland around 2500 BCE. Their descendants apparently died out and were succeeded by several other groups migrating from continental North America. There has been no evidence discovered that Greenland was known to Norsemen until the ninth century CE, when Norse Icelandic explorers settled on its southwestern coast. The ancestors of the Greenlandic Inuit who live there today appear to have migrated there later, around the year 1200, from northwestern Greenland. While the Inuit survived in the icy world of the Little Ice Age, the early Norse settlements along the southwestern coast disappeared, leaving the Inuit as the only inhabitants of the island for several centuries. In 1721, aspiring to become a colonial power, Denmark-Norway sent a missionary expedition to Greenland with the stated aim of reinstating Christianity among descendants of the Norse Greenlanders who may have converted back to paganism. When the missionaries found no descendants of the Norse Greenlanders, they baptized the Inuit Greenlanders they found living there instead. Denmark-Norway then developed trading colonies along the coast and imposed a trade monopoly and other colonial privileges on the area. During World War II, when Nazi Germany invaded Denmark, Greenlanders became socially and economically less connected to Denmark and more connected to the United States. After the war, Denmark resumed control of Greenland and in 1953, converted its status from colony to overseas amt (county). Although Greenland is still a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, it has enjoyed home rule since 1979. In 1985, the island decided to leave the European Economic Community (EEC), which it had joined as a part of Denmark in 1973. We take a look at a video about the history of Greenland and a short video about the interesting facts about the island.
