  • Summary

  • Voiced by veteran talk show host Adam McManus and written by radio-host and pastor Kevin Swanson and a team of other staff writers, The World View in 5 Minutes is a round-up of the daily news from a Biblical perspective. And, perhaps most uniquely, you will often hear applicable Scriptures paired with the stories themselves. It’s part Paul Harvey, part R.C. Sproul. You’ll get hooked to the most definitively Christian overview of the news including politics, pop culture, the church, and tracing God’s sovereign hand in the affairs of man.

Voting for a spot on the council is broken up geographically, with six countries vying for five open spots. The Marshall Islands won the fifth seat, beating Saudi Arabia by just seven votes. Previously, Saudi Arabia has sat as a member of the Human Rights Council. Madeleine Sinclair with the International Service for Human Rights said, “We are relieved that enough states took their record on human rights into account when voting. Saudi Arabia’s record is a laundry list of the kinds of abuses the Council should seek to address.” The

Elder Zhu Longfei of Shunde Shengjia Church had suffered in prison for 14 months. Police arrested him last year for printing Bible study materials, characterizing it as “printing and distributing illegal publications that seriously endanger social order and disrupt market order, with particularly serious circumstances.” Through Longfei’s imprisonment, China Aid noted “the Lord’s name was spread and greatly glorified because of this.” Like many other congregations, his church operates illegally outside of China’s officially recognized church. Such house churches face harassment, raids, and arrests. In Acts 5:29, the apostles said, “We must obey God rather than men

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Britain burdens parents with tax on private school tuition The U.K. Labor government will require private schools to charge a value-added tax on school fees starting next year. Christian schools are challenging the measure with the help of the Christian Legal Centre. The group warned “the policy will force Christian schools to close and deny Christian parents the right to give their children a Christian rather than a secular education.” Nearly 400,000 students attend independent faith schools in England, most of which are Christian. Andrea Williams with the Christian Legal Centre said, “It is unfair, and we argue, it is a breach of their human right to impose a value-added tax on such schools. [The] Labour [Party] must row back on this policy urgently. If they don’t, we will have no choice
