  • The consequences of the dramatic fall of the Syrian government are beginning to reveal themselves more than ever. As the new government formed begins to reveal its Islamist nature, Turkey is attacking American allied Kurdish forces in Northern Syria. Israel is taking ground in Syria at least temporarily as part of its own homeland defense. The specter of Iranian nuclear weapons advances speeding up has risen over the entire region, and the potential reconstitution of ISIS caliphate, are very real concerns around the world. Combine these conditions with the ISIS inspired terrorist attack in New Orleans in the early morning hours of New Years Day, and Americans are justified in our desire to re-establish deterrence on all of our adversaries as quickly as possible in the new Trump Administration. My guest today is Dr Walid Phares is a foreign policy expert, presidential advisor, professor, and author of several books, including his latest: Iran: An Imperialist Republic and U.S. Policy.
