  • Today, I want to discuss next steps now that the presidential election has passed. We are all struggling with various stages of grief, anger, and denial. So I pose this question: Where do we go from here?

    I am speaking to black women, specifically black women doctors, when I say the answer is go wherever you want to go and do whatever feels good.

    Jesus said that if you are doing it for the least of these, you are doing it for me. And one thing this election has shown us is the most disrespected, the most stepped on, and the most unappreciated people in this country and in this world are black women.

    So whatever you want to do, I encourage you to do. For some that might mean doing nothing, relaxing, and reflecting on where we are and what may come to pass. For others that might mean pouring yourself into those that God has put you on this Earth to serve. Whatever you decide, I want you to know that is okay. I support you and I am here for you.
