There's been an accident. Someone crash landed a Yeerk Bug fighter, and the Yeerks have been trying to cover it up - quickly. Ax and the Animorphs are about to have a huge problem. Rachel is falling apart. Literally. Her newest morph has the ability to regenerate its limbs, but when Rachel demorphs there's a lot more Rachel than when she started out. One more Rachel, to be exact. Rachel is an okay person to have around. But two could be considered overkill. Especially two Rachels with completely opposite personalities: one is pathetically weak; one is super strong and super nasty.

Byx is the youngest member of her dairne pack. Believed to possess remarkable abilities, her mythical doglike species has been hunted to near extinction in the war-torn kingdom of Nedarra. After her pack is hunted down and killed, Byx fears she may be the last of her species. The Endling. So Byx sets out to find safe haven, and to see if the legends of other hidden dairnes are true.

Ivan has been happily living in a wildlife sanctuary, with his friend Ruby next door in the elephant enclosure, frequent visits from his canine friend Bob, and his mate Kinyani by his side. And in the happiest turn of all, Ivan and Kinyani have welcomed a set of twins to their family! Ivan loves being a papa, even though it can be hard sometimes. But as he navigates the joys and challenges of parenthood, he can’t help but recall his life before the glass walls of the mall circus, his own childhood in the jungle—and his own twin.

A single Arn, Quafijinivon, the last member of the race that created the Hork-Bajir has survived. He has seen his entire people wiped out. He has seen the Hork-Bajir enslaved. Now, after a lifetime of planning and plotting, he wants to get his revenge on the Yeerks. And he wants to atone for the problems the Arn have caused. He is old and weak. But he has something the Yeerks have reason to fear: the Ixcila.

Jake and Tom's maternal great-grandfather dies suddenly. Their mom immediately travels out of state to help make arrangements for the funeral. Jake, Tom, and their father are to follow in two days when their dad can take off from work, and stay for a few days. This, of course, creates a problem for Tom ( who, as we know, is a Controller and needs to get to a Kandrona every three days.)

The Animorphs have met the Ellimist. He helped to save the kids when they were about to be eaten by a Taxxon. He helped to free two Hork-Bajir and restored Tobias's morphing ability. But even though the Ellimist has enormous power, he is not all powerful.

The Andalites have returned! The main fleet flew off-course in an effort to stop the galaxy's newest threat – the Rakkam Garoo. But a small crew managed to reach Earth. Now it's up to the Animorphs to decide how to treat their new allies. Can the group be trusted? Or do they see the kids as a threat to their own mission? Ax is torn. The Andalite team wants him on board–especially the cute young female cadet named Estrid.

Ruby’s story picks up a few months after the events of The One and Only Bob. Now living in a wildlife sanctuary, Ruby’s caretaker from the elephant orphanage in Africa where she grew up is visiting. Seeing him again brings back a flood of memories both happy and sad of her life before the circus, and she recounts the time she spent in the African savannah to Ivan and Bob.

Everyone thought Visser Three and Ax were the only Andalites on Earth–until now. The Animorphs have discovered two other warriors who escaped from Ax's Dome ship, and they may be able to help fight against the Yeerks! Gafinilan and Mertil were living their own quiet, secret lives on Earth, until they were caught on home video and shown on TV.
