Jesus – ‘God with us’ (Matthew 1:23) – came to be ‘to’ and ‘through’ us. This is a gift from God. He refreshes our soul, and then flows through us to the world around us. He gives us purpose, power, direction – every day, now and forevermore. Jesus gave people not only truth to believe, but paths to follow, and Spirit to minister. ‘God, don’t leave us here!’ My friend, Brian, had whispered this prayer the night before. Just outside his door there had been a violent, cold-blooded fight.
