Publisher's summary

“I can't let you face this alone.”

“I don't know. I'm just lonely.”

Summer barbecues and his brothers' renovations keep blacksmith Jackson Riley happy, but he's missing one thing: a relationship. Sweet, sexy Chase helps him with his dating profile and catches Jackson's eye instead. When they trade skills and time, the embers are stirred into a flame of passion. Jackson wants a family tattoo - something Chase's skilled hands can deliver. But Jackson worries when Chase asks him to forge a sword. What could he need protection from?

“I don't have a family.”

Tattoo artist Chase MacLeod can't stop running from his past. When he thinks he's escaped, a letter arrives that throws everything off balance. The fencing lessons he's taking bolster his confidence, and his new flame Jackson steps in and defends him. Then, Jackson makes an offer to open his home and heart to him. Chase must find the courage to face his past.

“Just tell me if they're gone for good.”

Chase wants to stick around and redefine the meaning of family, but the enemy fights dirty. Will Jackson's protection be enough to help Chase stand up for himself? Or will Chase's scars forever close his heart? Despite their best efforts, Chase's worst enemy might just be himself.

Clang is a steamy, stand-alone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.

Adorable

This audio was well told to the story is all about Jackson and his unlikely but intense beautiful journey with Chase. These characters were casual friends at first they almost started dating by accident. I liked how the narration showed the characters way of caring communication and honesty and concern for each other‘s feelings throughout the story. I enjoyed listening to this audio

Yessss

I really enjoyed this story about Chase and Jackson!
Chase has had a tough life due to the past and the people.
Unfortunately, the past is still haunting him but with the help of his friendship with Floyd and his soon-to-be more friendship with Jackson, he's starting to be more than just the pain and fear of his past has made him.
Jackson is just a big softy, but oh so hot!!! When he decides he wants a relationship, not just a hook up he turns to his friend Chase for help, not knowing his attraction for the other man is mutual.
These two together will melt your heart.
Narrator i mean come on it's Michael Pauley we all love his smooth dream boat voice. He has a way of sucking you into the book so you feel like you are there with Chase and Jackson.

Love the Riley brothers

I really love the Riley brothers and the relationship they have with each other. In this book, Jackson gets his HEA with Chase. Jackson is probably my favorite of the brothers because he's protective of everyone without being a jerk about it. He helps Chase deal with his family while helping his brothers work on the renovation on their properties.

Michael Dean is always a pleasure to listen to and really brings stories to life and he continues to do so in this series.

Low Angst Friends-to-Lovers Story with Three POVs

"Clang" is a friends-to-lovers story between blacksmith and Riley brother Jackson and new-to-town tattoo artist Chase. It has considerably more angst than the first Riley Brothers book, courtesy of Chase and his difficult past - I was expecting an abusive ex, so being on the run from his family was surprising and didn't make much sense given his age and the situation. In any case, the story is still largely fluffy and not short on sexy times and with the immediate threat of Chase's family resolved, the couple finds a comfortable HEA. Narrator Michael Dean delivers another solid performance here. This story totally works as a standalone, although Book 1 provides some setup for the series. Like Book 1, "Clang" has two MCs but three POVs - the third being Jackson's brother Thomas, which didn't really add or take away anything from Jackson and Chase's story. That said, I'm looking forward to reading Thomas's story next. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Jackson and Chase

4.5 stars. Jackson just impressed me from moment one. He and Chase both take a bit to get started and then it's a fever pitch. I liked that Jackson lends strength and support to Chase but, even when he wants to, he doesn't take over Chase's decisions. I liked watching Chase's self-examination and subsequent growth as he takes a stand. He stops being the terrified boy and becomes a man in control of his life. I'm looking forward to seeing these two as they continue building their HEA in the remaining books.

Audiobook: The narrator is clear and well-paced, I personally didn't care for his voices for the characters.

Lovely couple

I really liked Jackson and Chase. They have lots of fun together and I really liked their chemistry. Even though Chase has a tonight past that he is hiding from these two are there for each other and everything that may happen. I love the way that they narrator made these guys come to life and bring their story to everyone.
