Publisher's summary

Dark Empathy is the fourth book in a series that tells the tale of Nameless as he enters a new chapter in his life: Aegis training. But he has much to learn, and the world isn't waiting for him to finish….

WARNING: This is a work of erotic fantasy. There is nudity, some swearing, a fair bit of violence, and plenty of naughty sex between man (and woman) and monster girl/girls. If that isn’t your cup of tea, please give this book a pass!

Otherwise, please enjoy!

Amazing as always.

I have loved this series since he first published them. I deeply enjoy them even more in audio format. A rich and deep world created and growing cast of character broadening the readers view point from simply Nameless POV.

Look forward to the next audio book

A good continuation but too many damn perspectives

so full preface, I normally mostly read it harem books.
I like this story and the narrator is A+, Melanie does a fantastic job with all the different voices and all the sexy scenarios.

My main gripe with the book is the fact that it has a lot of different character perspectives for characters that are either very minor or are only relevant for this book.
I also do not like that. the majority of the story focus does not follow Nameless, the main protagonist. but instead follows a small side character named Becky.

Don't get me wrong. she is very important to the story of this book, but it's all kind of wrapped up at the end and moved on to the main plot thread of the book series, so it feels a bit wasted to devote over half the story to her.

also, the random aegis operative from the epilogue of the last book gets like a third of the story, including a sex scene or two.. I definitely did not want that. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the monster girl sex scenes but I'm here for following nameless a story. I don't care about any other protagonist. The only reason why I enjoy Cordelia is because I have it in my head that her and Nameless are destined for something to happen with them together... and form a mega harem, which I am down for.

but like I said, I don't care about all these different protagonists, I'm here for nameless's story and I wish the author would focus more on it unless on these damn side characters

Wow

This was a great telling of the story. I can hardly wait for the next one. Every time I hear the next story I want to read the next book again to keep the story going in my mind.

Sexy, Dark, and Riveting

Book 4 takes a deep dive into the very dark, but it is phenomenal. Lt. Bradford is brilliant at character development, and unafraid of writing complex characters with sympathetic motives behind even their evil acts. It's brave and creates a very dynamic story that really draws the audience in. It's just great. This story is definitely not for the faint of heart, so if you're hoping for HEA, move along. But if you like good stories that are bold enough to be complicated and tragic, you're in the right place. Melanie is brilliant. Her versatility, range, and emotion are stellar.

The Plot Thickens

Each subsequent book in this series has greater depth and immersion. I love how this started out as a somewhat whimsical adventure and has turned into something deserving the title of "Dark Empathy".
Also, we miss you and want to hear more from you Leftenant.

Only ok

Nameless is still disappointing. He even goes through training and is still a hesitant little shit.

author loses focus

Struggled to finish. When the main character is only in a quarter of the book you should just start a new series.
