Publisher's summary

In this exciting debut, author Keri Arthur explodes onto the supernatural scene with a sexy, sensuous tale of intrigue and suspense set in a world where legends walk and the shady paths of the underworld are far more sinister than anyone envisioned.

A rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, Riley Jenson and her twin brother, Rhoan, work for Melbourne’s Directorate of Other Races, an organization created to police the supernatural races - and protect humans from their depredations. While Rhoan is an exalted guardian, a.k.a. assassin, Riley is merely an office worker - until her brother goes missing on one of his missions. The timing couldn’t be worse.

More werewolf than vampire, Riley is vulnerable to the moon heat, the weeklong period before the full moon, when her need to mate becomes all-consuming....

Luckily Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she’s going to find her brother. Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful - and delectably naked - vamp who raises her temperature like never before.

In matters carnal, Riley has met her match. But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some shifty cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior - by tapping into the genome of nonhumans like Rhoan. Now Riley knows just how dangerous the world is for her kind - and just how much it needs her.

Bite into another Riley Jenson novel.

BIG holes in the plot

I know that one has to suspend reality to enjoy most fantasy books- and I do- however, the premise of this book about the sex drive and the full moon is just to hard to take. All werewolves have to stop and have marathon sex one week of every moon cycle or they have blood lust???? Or is it just the main character that can not deal with it?
If you can get beyond that- it is an ok listen.

Only Half Of The Book Is The Story

The story is actually very short. Most of the book is thinking about sex, having sex, etc, and the sex really has nothing to do with the story. it was long and drawn out. The narrator can only do 3 or 4 voices, so it becomes hard to keep the characters straight, and she reads the book, doesn't put much emotion into it.

Enjoyed this entire series!

This is just the first book in this series. You have to actually read the other 5 or 6, but I find them very enjoyable. I like the premise and the heroine does not do lots of stupid stuff like so many of the paranormal romance/urban fantasy women. Yes, there is a lot of sex, most of it casual, but it becomes a part of the lore of the werewolf in this mythology. I do wish Audible (and for that matter others, like Amazon), would indicate if there is explicit sex. I like to read/hear it in my stories, but if someone is going to be with you in the car, a head's up would be nice. I usually read the reviews to see if sex is mentioned by reviewers. Of course, those are the ones I like - a good story with good sex. Full Moon Rising fills that bill.

I like the narrator also. This series takes place in Australia and her voice is perfect for the lead character.

Enjoyable

If you like the Anita Blake series by Luarel K. Hamilton you'll like this book as well. It has a bit more sex then I thought the story needed but the plot and action was good. I enjoy tough females with a good sense of humor and a I can take you on type attitude. Hope to see more from this author soon.

Enjoying the Book and the Reader

I don't like to listen to overly 'practiced' readers. They tend to exagerate emotions and all use the same sort of voice for charecter types, such as seductive women, psychotic man. That gets on my nerves. This reader does not do it. The story is faced paced and the reading subtle.

A lot of sex in this book.

I guess I didn't know what I was getting. Still had a good story. I have never listen to this author before.
