Haunted by her years of abuse, Parker Dane tries to leave her past behind her to start a new life in a new city. She meets Ian Blake; actually she runs into him multiple times, but always runs away before learning his name. Ian can't get Parker out of his mind, and he doesn't even know her name.

Ian finally gets his opportunity to meet Parker, and he will do anything in his power to keep her from running away from him again. Parker has years of demons and fears bottled up inside her. She knows that if Ian finds out her secrets, she will lose him forever; no one wants damaged goods. Will Ian make her run away again, or will her past catch up to her?

Will Ian be the man to stand by Parker or will he turn his back on her?

Ok story!

Parker Dane is eighteen and has left an abusive home to live by herself and go to college. A couple times she has ran into Ian who after there first encounter is intrigued by her, but she kept running away. Once he bumps into her at her job she asks her out. This is where it kinda steered me off the story because now there is this Insta love thing going out but Parker has never had a boyfriend and her first ever date when she was younger had her freaked out when the boy touched her, which I could see being she was sexually abused by her step father, but now with no therapy or anyone to talk to about what happened to her she is ok with Ian and doesn't freak out when things escalate sexually. I did get emotional when she did talk about her experience and how she wanted to be a counselor for sexually abused kids. I also think the thing with the best friends boyfriend was a bit much and again how it seemed so easy for her to get over it.

Attention Grabber

This story had my attention from the beginning. I was anxious to find out what would happen from one page to the next. From heartbreaking to sexy and happy, it was a great book. The narrator was great!

Innocence lost

When Parker left home at the age of 18, she knew her life would be better. She had to get away from her abusive adopted father. Little did she know that Ian, the man she crossed paths with, would teach her about , trust, love ,and believing in herself. But will her darkest secret turn him away from her? Can Parker learn to overcome her fears? This is an emotional story of Parker finding her confidence, strength and trust when she had a dark past.
Jennifer Richmond tells the story with emotion. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review

This is excellent!!!

S.M. Stryker has taken a sensitive subject and brought it to life. Parker lived with a secret that she had tried to share and no one listened... so she stopped and when she turned 18, she ran. Her life is now ahead of her and she is intent on living it.

Insert Ian into her life and she is scared but hopeful.. he falls hard for her and her life takes on a look it’s never had before. She begins to settle in... and her world begins to spin.

There is so much that happens to this young woman, and it will make you wonder how anyone survives this. I really enjoyed this book. I also enjoyed Jennifer Richmond as narrator.

survivor

Parker goes through h*ll and back in this emotionally gutwrenching tale. She's a survivor, and Ian is a protector and savior. I can't even imagine the trauma this couple has gone through. This was intense and raw but necessary to get a point across. Inspirational. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

I hate her voice!

I’ve rather listen to mosquito debate politics... I’ll make sure to stir clear of this female narrator!
