Surprisingly, Adam Scott Jaffe’s career as a divorce lawyer inspired his semi-autobiographical book Defending Eve. He has always been a romantic soul, yet learning to give himself completely to love has been a struggle—one his leading character shares openly as Defending Eve unfolds. Jaffe’s romantic side stands juxtaposed against his career. No one seeing him in the courtroom would suspect that this man has a sensitive heart. Yet it is his very legal experience which has given him a view behind the curtain of romance. He discovered that a simple yet paramount secret could keep clients out of his office. He realized there was a solution to preventing dissolution of those dreams all relationships begin with. In this book, Jaffe uses the fiction genre to reveal the outworking of that secret. Jaffe is a Senior Partner at Jaffe & Haug, an Atlanta Trial Lawyers Group in Atlanta, Georgia. He has litigated thousands of divorce and domestic cases in the course of his career. This experience has involved handling complex and highly contested divorce trials and settlements nationwide. Witchcraft, intoxicated toddlers, DNA donors and surrogates, same-sex marriages, child abuse and molestation, bipolar and other disorders, spousal slavery, out of state terminations, forensics, step-parent adoptions and more might have given him a jaded view of relationships. Instead, these unique situations have proved pivotal in shaping the interweaving of those secrets that create strong relationships you’ll find in Defending Eve. Adam lives in Atlanta, Georgia with Georgia, his adorable Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He’s a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan. When he’s not watching the game, he enjoys disappearing to his beach home in Destin, Florida.
