Akilah is an A/B Honor Roll student; she enjoys running track, writing poetry, tumbling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is actively involved in the community serving with the Wake County Teen Court Program, serving food at a local homeless shelter, and served as the Entertainment Chair for the 2019 Raleigh Girls World Expo. Akilah was a recipient of the 2018 Raleigh Girls World Expo “Girls of Merit” award. She has pioneered initiatives to collect school supplies for abused and neglected girls in different countries in Africa. Akilah has traveled to eight countries and two continents. She enjoys exploring other cultures and learning about people.
