Amy Nielsen spent nearly twenty years on the other side of the writing aisle as a children’s librarian, sharing her love of books with young readers. Daily immersion in story took root, and she started penning her YA debut, Worth It, behind her checkout desk. When her youngest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, life shifted. She used her love of writing to help other families and started the Big Abilities blog. She is the author of It Takes a Village: How to Build A Support System for your Exceptional Needs Family and the picture book, Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder. She recently had a piece featured in the Writer’s Workout Our Pandemic anthology. Amy also freelances for The Autism Helper, Playground Magazine, and other online publications. When not writing, she and her family can be found boating in Tampa Bay. You can find Amy at http://www.bigabilities.com or http://www.amynielsenauthor.com Amy's upcoming YA novel, WORTH IT, debuts in May of 2024 with Wild Ink Publishing.
