Anya Cartwright-Shortridge was born in San Francisco, California. She grew up on a farm in Contra Costa County as the eldest of seven children and spent her middle and high school years in Dunsmuir, a little mountain town in Northern California. Anya now lives in San Diego, California with her beloved husband Ken & their two cats. She has six grown-up children: three boys and three girls, and two grandsons. When not writing, Anya enjoys nature, gardening, raising monarch butterflies, and teaching. Anya is the daughter of Bill Cartwright, author of “La Jolla – Jewel of My Childhood.”
