A little bit about myself, I was born in 1992 in Newark Delaware, and have been writing since I was around 10. I’ve dealt with a lot of shit over the years from addiction to pretty much every drug to homelessness, alcoholism, suicide and general manic depression. I was a very good student and excelled at communications and ethnic studies in college. I was told when I was in my second year by a professor that I would never be an author so this book is also a huge fuck you to that guy as well. But seriously I got sober in my late 20’s after my Mom passed away from a brain injury in 2020. At that point I had just gotten into the Kaiser psychiatric treatment program and was about 3 months into my new antipsychotics and tranquilizers. Losing Mom sent me into a spiral but after about two weeks I had the road to Damascus moment. I knew if I didn’t quit drinking and by the same token drugs I was going to die, I prayed and prayed and prayed and finally after many many years of destitution I was given a new lease on life. It is my hope that I can not only be a mirror for those of you who have felt so marginalized or forgotten but also to point to Jesus as not just a savior but a life spring to quench our thirst for peace.
