Barry D. Freeman has been a paperboy, TV studio cameraman, award winning film editor, museum manager, script writer, and satellite TV/internet installer. He has also worked in a mushroom factory, flown over the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific coast in a single engine fabric covered antique plane and lived for 30 years on a horse ranch without learning to ride a horse. Widowed in 2020, he found time to complete his first novel in 2021 at age 78. His first novel, Sideslip, involves pilots and airplanes but is not an instruction book. Freeman is not a licensed pilot. Six hours of dual instruction on a Cessna150 sixty years ago does not a pilot make. However, working in television and film for fifty years did help prepare him for writing a novel. Writing scripts, photography and editing film made him a living as he learned the art of story telling. Do not attempt to fly a plane by this example. But do enjoy this unique crime/mystery story.
