Brad Thomas is CEO and Senior Analyst at Wide Moat Research, an independent investment research firm that specializes in a broad range of income-focused investment opportunities. He’s the most-followed analyst at Seeking Alpha, a crowd-sourced investment platform, with over 110,000 followers; and he’s the editor of Forbes Real Estate. Brad is also the founder of iREIT™, a portfolio of products that include iREIT™ Research, iREIT™ Tracker, iREIT™ Podcast, iREIT™ MarketVector Quality REIT Index, iREIT™ Masterclass, and iREIT™ Investor. Brad has extensive experience in commercial real estate investing, transacting more than $1 billion worth of projects all told. He’s been a landlord to many large corporations such as Walmart, Walgreens, Advance Auto Parts, Sherwin Williams, Goodyear Tire, PetSmart, Aaron’s Rent-to-Own, Dollar General, Dollar Tree and CVS. Plus, he’s been a multi-unit franchisee for two nationally recognized chains. All told, it’s safe to say that he knows a thing or two about real estate. Brad has authored four books so far, including this one. He’s also written numerous articles for and made media appearances on outlets such as Fox & Friends, Fox Business, MSNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, Forbes, Institutional Investor, NPR, AAII, Newsmax, OANN, MarketWatch, Investopedia, Barron’s, The Property Chronicle, Globestreet, Kiplinger’s, The Motley Fool and more. Brad graduated from Presbyterian College with a major in business and economics, playing college basketball and participating in ROTC for his four years there. Today, he’s an adjunct professor at NYU and guest lectures regularly at Penn State University, Cornell University, Clemson University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Georgetown University. (All about real estate, of course.) He also served on an advisory board for a former president of the United States. A South Carolina man, born and bred, Brad was raised by a single mother, Louise Thomas, who worked and invested in real estate for over four decades. His maternal grandfather was also a real estate investor who developed motels during the 1960s in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. So properties are in his blood. Brad is married to Stephanie Thomas, who he shares five children with (Lauren, Lexy, Nicholas, Riley, and AJ) and ACE, the dog. Plus, he’s the recent grandfather of the ever-impressive Asher, who was one year old at the time of REITs for Dummies’ publication.
