Born in Toronto, I have spent the majority of my life in Mississauga, Ontario. My love of SF dates back to the early 60s with the likes of Asimov and Clarke. My love of fantasy began with a certain cover by Frank Frazetta on a certain Conan paperback. This introduced me to the world of Robert E. Howard and fantasy. While much of my work has its roots in sword and sorcery, I have published tales in such diverse fields as history, young adult, post-apocalyptic, alt-historical and Lovecraftian horror, in addition to a graphic novel based on my award winning short story 'The Marsh God'. I tend to write stories about characters who are 'everyman': average Joes and Janes who care little about the grand scheme of things, so long as they manage to survive another day. My stories have appeared five times in the annual Preditors & Editors reader's poll in categories for best short SF&F and best short Horror, placing first twice in SF&F and once in Horror.
