Carla Diana is a designer, author and educator exploring the impact of future technologies through hands-on experiments in tangible interaction. Her designs have appeared on the covers of Popular Science, Technology Review and the New York Times Sunday Review. Carla has been granted the honor of creating the 4D Design program at Cranbrook Academy of Art, serving as its Head of Program and first Designer-in-Residence. She is Head of Design for Diligent Robotics, creators of robots for healthcare settings. Carla writes and lectures frequently on the social impact of technology and created LEO the Maker Prince: Journeys in 3D Printing, a book which features a series of downloadable 3D printed objects featured in the story. She cohosts the Robopsych Podcast, a biweekly discussion around design and the psychological impact of human-robot interaction. Carla holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the Cooper Union and an M.F.A. in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
