Cary Reed is an American author from western Massachusetts. He graduated from American University in Washington, DC, and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Cary served honorably as an infantry platoon leader with the 82nd Airborne Division and graduated Army Ranger School before transferring to the Army Reserve where he became a military intelligence officer. His change in career opened new doors and he began working for the Defense Intelligence Agency. Now he is a cybersecurity expert working in the financial sector. Cary earned a Masters of Arts from Georgetown University in National Security Studies. Never one to sit still, he practices daily meditation and enjoys exercising. He is an avid reader who has taken a deep interest in virtue ethics. Experience and interest led him to pick up the pen. In the Shadow of the Furies: A Novel of the Second Punic War is a historical fiction and his debut novel. He currently lives in New York City with his wife of twelve years.
