Dr. Charles Dallara serves as Chairman of the Board for all Partners Group activities in the United States and as an Advisory Partner engaged in a variety of investment and client business. He has been with Partners Group since 2013 and was Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Partners Group Holding AG, Chairman of the Americas and a member of the Board's Client Oversight Committee until 2019. He is a member of the Middle East Investment Initiative, a Director at large of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and a board member of the UC San Diego School of Global Policy & Strategy. He served as a Director of the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) from 2014 to 2021. Prior to joining Partners Group, he was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of International Finance (IIF) from July 1993 to January 2013. In this capacity, Dr. Dallara built the IIF into one of the most influential global associations of financial institutions. He played a leading role in the handling of many sovereign debt issues, including the Greek debt restructuring, which was the largest in history. He is the author of "Euroshock: How the Largest Debt Restructuring in History Helped Save Greece and Preserve the Eurozone", published by Rodin Books in 2024. He was also substantially involved in global regulatory reform, working closely with the leaders of financial regulators and Central Bank Governors to adapt the global regulatory framework for financial services. Previously, he was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan & Co from 1991 to 1993. He also served in the US Treasury Department from 1976 to 1991. During this time, he held senior positions in the Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations, including Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Policy Development and United States Executive Director of the IMF. In these capacities, he played a role in key US economic policy initiatives such as The Plaza Accord and The Brady Plan. He also served as the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), reviewing all foreign investments in the US economy of a strategic or sensitive nature. He holds a Master of Arts, a Master of Arts in Law & Diplomacy and a PhD from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Massachusetts, USA, and a bachelor’s degree in economics and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of South Carolina, USA. Dr. Dallara served as an Officer in the US Navy from 1970 to 1974. He is married to Peixin Li Dallara and has three children, Stephen, Emily, and Bryan.
