Hello there, My name is Cheryl Rogers and I'm a Florida gal, born and raised in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area. I currently live in Tampa with my family. I write primarily Christian books to encourage others to seek God and stay connected to his word. But I also like to share what I've learned about desktop design and self publishing. My background includes newspaper reporting, photography, desktop design and print brokering. I was taught to write for the fifth-grade level, but I've been writing for all ages -- from children to adult -- because we all need to be encouraged in our walk with God. When I came to know the Lord as an adult through the serious immune disorder, Environmental Illness, I realized I had an important story to tell. I'd attended church regularly since childhood, yet I didn't know God. I knew only about God and about religion. Facing horrendous sensitivities to things in my environment, I asked God to heal me. But instead he guided me towards medical doctors until I was humbled and had exhausted my own resources. I surrendered my life and circumstances to him and THEN he showed up. My life hasn't been the same since. I'd wanted to be a writer since I became enthralled with Nancy Drew Mystery stories as a child. Finally, I realized what I needed to write ABOUT. At the time, I was at home doing the parenting thing and not writing much of anything. God had given me melodies as I read Scripture and enabled me to self produce three Scripture song CDs. I realized if I could produce these songs with my limited background in music, I really needed to use the writing skills he'd developed in me over the years. So I began writing a series of Bible columns sharing what God has taught me through his word and the circumstances of my life. This eventually became a book at God's urging, a book focused on teaching young people eager to run the race set before them. "Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook" became the book I had longed for and never found, a book that would get others up to speed quickly on the important lessons of faith. In 40 short lessons, it teaches us how to really love others and not fake it, why it's important to set aside pride, and how to deal with important challenges in life including fear, death and tragedy. Excited about the opportunities created by ebooks, I have been steadily producing them. I have begun a Bible Camp Mystery series for Christian young adults, which features a group of 10- to 16-year-old boys and their adventures in the Florida backwoods. My Just Like Jonah collection now includes three titles: Just Like Jonah Wail Tales, a short story collection where modern Jonahs land in a whale of trouble; Just Like Jonah Wail Tales Workbook, the parent/teacher/independent study guide with discussion questions and Scripture citations; and The Lesson of Jonah: There is a Price to Pay When you Disobey, which includes one short story with discussion questions, Scripture cites and optional homework. I Can See Christian Storybook Treasury is a unique short story collection aimed at defeating doubts about God that children may have as they grow. I publish New Christian Books Online Magazine at http://www.newchristianbooksonlinemagazine.com, where readers and writers can connect. This free online publication features news announcements about kingdom-building books as well as book excerpts, book reviews, features, author marketing tips, a Fast Track Bible column and more. Additionally, I offer consulting/coaching to writers, plus self-publishing services to authors, including press releases, writing, editing, copyediting and proofreading, interior and cover design, and formatting. I run the Mentor Me Career Network at http://www.mentormecareernetwork.com
