Danita Carter has enjoyed a successful career on Wall Street, while working for some of New York's leading firms. She also designs one of a kind fine jewelry for private clients and celebrities. Her designs have won acclaim in the States and Europe. Danita has been featured among America's Who's Who, and was a guest panelist at The Meet the Authors event, sponsored by The Trumpet Awards. She was recently invited to participate in the first annual Great Midwest Book Fest, sponsored by Urban Review, as well as The Black Expo in St. Louis, with such noted authors as Terry McMillan and Victoria Rowell. Having had a creative spirit her entire life, Danita finally gave into the writing bug, and penned her first co-written novel Revenge is Best Served Cold, which was published in 2001 by NAL. While still writing adult-themed novels, Danita has entered into the Young Adult arena with Peer Pleasure, a multi-cultural story set in New York which chronicles the lives of six colorful teens as they navigate their way through young-adulthood and the challenges along the way. Peer Pleasure, which was acquired by Zane's Strebor Books International, a division of Simon and Schuster, is listed as one of AOL's Black Voices top Summer reads! Danita has written and co-written five novels. Slated to be released in June of 2010 is her first romantic/mystery entitled Murder in the Hamptons, a griping story of money, murder and marriage gone awry! Currently, Danita is working on several projects, one of which is the sequel to Peer Pleasure. A native of Chicago, Danita splits her time between the Big Apple and the Windy City.
