After graduating from college with a speech communications major and journalism minor from Ohio Wesleyan University, my first job after that was working with the textbook publisher Prentice-Hall. I was fortunate to have an amazing manager named Gary Gutchell who taught me not only lessons for business, but for my personal life, too. Those who have worked with me through the years have heard me say his name many times. Throughout my life I have tried to focus on some simple principles and values that I believe are essential. Like everyone, I have had highs and lows in my career, but I've learned strategies to help me refocus and move in a more positive direction. Today, I divide up my time doing coaching work for those seeking career development in the middle stage of their careers and sales training for individuals and small organizations.
