Dr. Asha de Vos is an award-winning Sri Lankan marine biologist and ocean educator who has pioneered long-term blue whale research in the northern Indian Ocean. She has degrees from the University of St. Andrews, University of Oxford, and the University of Western Australia. Dr. de Vos is a National Geographic Explorer, was named one of the world's most inspirational and influential women in the world by BBC 2018, won an inaugural Maxwell-Hanrahan Award in field biology in 2020 and The Tallberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Award in 2021 to name a few. These awards exemplify her multi-faceted nature as a scientist, story-teller, opportunity creator and change-maker for our planet.
