Dr. Merlyn Clarke embarked on her career in the healthcare field as an assistant nurse at the age of 18. Over the years, she advanced through various roles, becoming a registered nurse, midwife, nurse practitioner, and eventually earning her doctorate from Georgia State University. Dr. Clarke holds three associate degrees from Guyana, South America, a bachelor's degree from Kingston University in London, a master of science degree from the College of New Rochelle in New York, and both a master of science degree and a doctoral degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Married for the past 35 years, Dr. Clarke and her husband have two children: a son and a daughter. Tragically, their son succumbed to sickle cell disease at the age of 33, leaving behind his wife and daughter. Dr. Clarke is also the author of the book "Shattered Bond: The Life of Marvin Clarke." This memoir, co-written with her husband, chronicles their son’s life, his struggle with illness, his untimely death, and their emotional journey through grief.
