Elizabeth Kensinger graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University, with a joint degree in Psychology and Biology. She received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After postdoctoral training in Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Psychology at Harvard University, she joined the faculty at Boston College. She is now Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Boston College, where she directs the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory. She is broadly interested in the bidirectional links between emotion and memory and in applying the basic science of memory to maximize individuals' abilities to be lifetime learners. She is the recipient of numerous awards. Among them, she was named a Searle Scholar and was a recipient of the Janet Taylor Spence Award for Transformative Early Career Contributions from the Association for Psychological Science. She has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers and has given hundreds of conference presentations.
