Erika Nielsen Brown is a passionate advocate for diversity and social justice, and she is the author of Diversity in the Work Place. She has a unique and rich insight into diversity, from growing up in Scandinavia, to living and working all over the world for the last 20 years. She has been a “foreigner” for half her life, held leadership roles in different parts of the world, lived and worked as a single woman in the Middle East, traveled extensively and immersed herself into different cultures. Her personal experiences and passion around the topic has given her unique insight and understanding. In her spare time, Erika is an avid traveller. She is social and outgoing, she loves meeting new people and learning about their culture and traditions. This has lead to some memorable experiences, where she’s been a bridesmaid in a Chinese wedding, broke faste together with Muslim colleagues and friends in the Middle East, celebrated Chinese New Year in a Chinese family home, and enjoyed home cooked Indian food for Deepavali. She also helped run a Charity for a couple of years, where she organised community events.
