Gary Edward Geraci (1964) is an American poet born in Castro Valley, California to Catholic parents whom relocated to Austin, Texas in the mid-1970s. Growing up in Austin with three brothers and one sister, all with musical talents, meant participating in its world-renowned music scene - well into his thirties. Obtaining his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 allowed him to work professionally in varying engineering projects and currently, as a design engineer for federal government earthen dam repair and rehabilitation projects. Deprived of the liberating freedom to study college liberal arts he supported his passion for writing by blogging. His first blog, "The Beat Goes On,” became the tool of choice to share his personal and compelling story covering his music scene memories to his reversion from an agnostic science major to a devout believer in the faith of his youth: the Catholic Church. He began writing poetry in 2017, inspired by the poetry movie “Patterson”, and has since published nearly 250 poems on varying social media forums including Instagram, Facebook, Blogger, and MyPoeticside.com. His poem “Pale Blue Dot” won honorable mention in 2018 in the Christian Poets & Writers (christianpoetsandwriters.org) 2018 Online Faith Community review where it was written: “Simply, Quintessential” and “Someone who emanates words, so expressively, ‘We wonder, were they born with oratorical ability unknown to the average communicator?!” Gary is married and lives with his wife in Temple, Texas.
