Gregory A. Wilson is Professor of English at St. John’s University in New York City, where he teaches creative writing and fantasy fiction along with various other courses in literature. His first academic book was published by Clemson University Press, with the second edition in 2019; on the creative side, he has won an award for a national playwriting contest, and his first novel, a work of fantasy entitled The Third Sign, was published by Gale Cengage. His second novel, Icarus, was published as a graphic novel (with art from Attila Fabio) by Atthis Arts and was a Silver Medalist in the IBPA 2021 Benjamin Franklin Awards. His third novel, Grayshade, called a "timely study in the price of fanaticism and the burden of violent faith" by the European Review of Science Fiction and "a great read for fans of dark gritty fantasy" by NYT bestselling author Martha Wells, was published by Atthis Arts in 2022, also winning a Silver Medal in the IBPA 2023 Benjamin Franklin Awards; its critically acclaimed sequels, Renegade (2023) and Heretic (2024), concluded The Gray Assassin Trilogy. A tabletop role-playing game based on the Grayshade world is forthcoming soon. He has short stories out in a number of anthologies, alongside authors like Robert Silverberg, Cat Rambo, Carlos Hernandez, and many others, and he has had three articles published in the SFWA Bulletin. He is also the author of the bestselling Tales and Tomes from the Forbidden Library, a 5E sourcebook and adventure from Alligator Alley Entertainment. He is a regular panelist at national and international conferences and has coordinated programming for the Origins Author's Alcove and the Gen Con Writers' Symposium. On other related fronts, he did character work and flavor text for the hit fantasy card game Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer, is the lead writer of the video game Chosen Heart (currently in development), and along with fellow speculative fiction author and game designer Brandon O'Brien is co-host of the critically-acclaimed actual play podcast Speculate! Finally, he runs a popular TwitchTV channel (under the moniker Arvan Eleron) focused on story and narrative, with a number of sponsored tabletop RPG campaigns featuring prominent speculative fiction authors and voice actors. He lives with his wife Clea, daughter Senavene, and son Calen–both named at his wife’s urging for characters in The Third Sign, for which they seem to have forgiven him–in a two-hundred-year-old home near the ocean in Connecticut.
