A freelancer for 45 years, Harriet Hodgson is the author of thousands of articles, and 45 books. She loves writing so much she even writes in her sleep! Her work focuses on a variety of topics: nutrition, sexual harassment, Alzheimer's disease, aging, grief reconciliation/recovery, and caregiving. Hodgson cared for three generations of family members and was a caregiver for 23 years. Her caregiving experiences led to five books: The Family Caregiver's Guide (also an audiobook), Affirmations for Family Caregivers, A Journal for Family Caregivers, and The Family Caregiver's Cookbook. Hodgson also wrote So, You're Raising Your Grandkids!, based on her life experience and research. This book was a finalist in the Book Excellence Awards, chosen as a New Apple Official Selection, and received the Rave Reviews Book Club Grand Prize for 2019 in the RRBC International Literary Awards Contest. Her most recent book, The Grandma Force, received a Silver Medal from the Living Now awards, given to authors who are "changing the world one book at a time." Her recent work focuses on grief healing and she has written 11 books on the topic. Hodgson is a bereaved mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, and friend. When her husband was dying, Hodgson started doodling to relieve stress, and wrote Grief Doodling: Bringing Back Your Smiles. The book won several awards. She gave a workshop on grief doodling at The Compassionate Friends National Conference in Houston. Hodgson also wrote Daisy A Day: Hope for a Grieving Heart. Her latest book is Winning: A Story of Grief and Renewal. Another grief healing book, Grief in Your Words: How Writing Helps You Heal is currently in production. A popular speaker, Hodgson has given talks at nutrition, public health, Alzheimer's, caregiving and bereavement conferences. She has appeared on more than 188 radio talk shows, including CBS Radio, and dozens of television stations, including CNN.
