J.J. Clarke, award-winning author of the Kate Anderson Mystery Series, Blonde Ambition, and many short-stories, poems and articles, grew up in a magical corridor of Missouri, where Mark Twain got his inspiration, Walt Disney first drew Micky Mouse on a barn, and a young farm boy was accepted into West Point, and later became a general. (General John J. Pershing) She wrote her first short stories in fourth grade. The nuns did not approve, but the local librarians loved them. Clarke spent her career in the State of Missouri where she wrote concise, factual reports for the court system and served on the public relations committee. She retired as a state administrator. After marrying her husband, Barry Johnson, she wrote grants and assisted in restoring the Tillman House, an historic landmark museum in Brookfield, Missouri. Clarke uses her experience as a parole officer to write authentic characters with dynamic dialogue. She also brings her love for magic into her writing. The Kate Anderson Mystery series include the books: Dared to Run, Dared to Fly, Dared to Return, and Dared to Dream.
